Zürcher Transport was founded in 1854 in Chiasso, Switzerland and specializes in the transportation of goods between Lugano and Milan. In 1928 the firm was run by Giovanni Zürcher, managing director and grandfather of the actual director. In the years after the first world war the exchange of goods between Switzerland and Italy continued, alongside with removals as well as the transportation of people (emigrants) During the second world war the son Giaccomo was in charge, an enterprising man who gained a lot of new and important clients specially in the swiss watch -and textile sectors. In 1961 his son Silvio started to help run the firm at his father's side.
