TRANSPORTS CHEVRIER, a little history... Founded in 1946 by Francis CHEVRIER, Transports CHEVRIER started off as just a small food distribution business servicing the Giffre and Chamonix valley. It was not until the mid-1950s that the company first ventured into the road haulage business. With an increasing number of trips down south to procure citrus fruits, the company began to carry freight on the outbound journeys to maximize the profitability of each trip. The fruit and vegetable wholesale business continued to expand, until the advent of supermarket chains in the 1970s. More interested in the transport business than in the increasingly uncertain food wholesale business, Francis's sons, André and Yvon, decided to set up an independent company in 1975. This new company and the wholesale business continued in parallel, until Francis Chevrier's retirement. From the outset, Transports CHEVRIER took advantage of its location at the center of the transalpine link, and launched into the international transport business, initially targeting Italy, then Greece. To improve its services and continue its expansion, in November 1998, Transports CHEVRIER relocated to new premises in Bonneville (Haute Savoie), close to the Mont Blanc motorway. The same year, the company was renamed CHEVRIER Transports et Services, with three main business focuses: transport, logistics, and garage services.
